Why Must We Endure Grief?

Why must we Endure Grief? To Grieve with Others Restores our HOPE.

Through tragedy we learn that God is “close to the broken in spirit and contrite or brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18). We learn that when bad things happen, we can get through them; that knowledge then gives us hope the next time tragedy strikes.

God gives us the strength to move on and gives us other people to help us, which is critical because grief can only be accomplished in the context of a relationship. We need others to hold us, to walk with us as we go through the process of letting down our emotions and letting go to move forward, because we must have something good in hand to be able to let go of something bad. It is a little like being a trapeze artist: We can only let go of one trapeze if another is in view. So often we must Trust God! For we can not see the next swing arm yet!

Grief is God’s way of getting us through and past difficult emotions. We need others to help us do that. Therefore the Bible says to “mourn with those who mourn” (Romans 12:15). As we mourn with those who mourn, our hearts reach out and we are the tangible hand of Jesus. People discover the truth of what Jesus said: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).

Since grief is absolutely necessary for successfully moving through life, and since it is an essential part of the growth process, we have to make sure it happens well in our life and in the lives of those we love. The only way it can happen well is in relationship — the way God designed it to work. To be in a relationship, to hold each other up when we are feeling weak.

To know and understand God’s love and compassion gather our tears in a bottle! “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” Psalms‬ ‭56:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Grief is evident as we look into the eyes of another person. It is a relational process. Relationships provide care, support, structure and the balm of love to heal hurts. We must learn how to grieve.  Get people grieving correctly — with other people not hiding alone—  discovering ways to Restore Hope, Renew Your Mind and ReEnergize Your Body. “A sad face is good for the heart” (Ecclesiastes 7:3). Releasing Grief cures pain. IN TIME!

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all;”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:17-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Oh Lord hear the cries of the righteous. Lord, your promise to us is that you are with the broken heart 💔. Heal our hearts now! As we turn to you we Trust you, with our emotions, we lay them at your feet. Restore our Hope, Renew Our Minds, and ReEnergize Our Bodies that we may Honor and Glorify your holy Name. Remember there is #AlwaysHope #NeverGiveUp
